Well, it depends on what you're doing. Sometimes, weight is NOT the best indicator to go by. Like in my case... I'm doing a lot of muscle building at the same time as losing weight. So if my weight drops slowly, and I was measuring only by weight, then it's really not a good indicator if I'm losing inches at a moderate rate. But it's a definite motivator!
The other thing is that my tips for breaking the wall probably won't work for you, unfortunately -- we're a very dissimilar body shape! Most of what I'm doing involves watching my carbs and making sure at at least 40% of my diet comes from healthy fats (if most people looked at my diet they'd call me crazy because it flies in the face of most 'standard'/accepted ideas about nutrition).
