Christina's Quilt [Finished]

And it's done! I'm so excited to be sending this off to Christina and her hubby. I ended up not putting her son's name on it, for two reasons: 1: I had already fallen behind, and 2: the kid is going to know it's his anyway. So today I get to wrap it up and send it out! Pics behind the jump. :)

This is Mr. Owl. He has light blue eyes that get washed out in every other photo I took... so get your fill of those baby blues, because they don't photograph well. (And yes, Mr. Owl has a 'raggedy' feel around his edges... owls have feathers, and that was my attempt at recreating that 'feel' without actually putting feathers on the quilt...)

Awwww!!!! That is ADORABLE! I want one! That is too cool to see it go from just pieces of cut fabric to this. Stitching makes such a huge difference. This makes me really want to learn how to do this / buy a sewing machine. Gah I just scrolled up again, that owl makes me happy. He is such a happy owl.

Awww... thank you! :) Believe it or not, I was worried about how it was going to come out! I was worried about there not being enough "action" or "movement" in the quilt... but once it was quilted, with blades of grass in the grass and lines up the tree like bark.... I'm VERY happy with it! This sort of stuff is hard for me... I'm awesome at the geometric stuff, but I'm trying to cultivate talent, lol.

And I see no reason why you shouldn't quilt. :) You'd probably be better at it than I am, since you do all sorts of artsy stuff (like all those dinos for Dexter's room! I could never do that!). It'd be easy to translate drawings over into fabric.
